What is the Adult Education Officers’ Association?

The Adult Education Officers’ Association (AEOA) is a professional body of Adult Education Officers (AEOs) employed by Vocational Education Committees (VECs) throughout Ireland. The local AEO is employed to manage the adult education service within each Vocational Education Committee (VEC).

The local AEO is employed to manage the adult education service within the VEC. The AEO is central to the development of the local adult education service and have played a major role in the emergence of all adult education programmes in VECs.

What is the Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA)?

The Irish Vocational Education Association (IVEA) represents the interests, at national level, of Ireland’s thirty-three Vocational Education Committees (VECs). The Association, formally known as the Irish Technical Education Association was established in 1902 and the name was changed to the Irish Vocational Education Association in 1944. As a representative body, IVEA has a diverse range of functions which at all times seeks to protect, promote and enhance the interests of vocational education and training within the wider education sector and the country at large. www.ivea.ie
