The VEC AGS provides both an information service and adult education guidance for adults who are participating in or would like to participate in education programmes. The Service offers support and advice to people as they make their own decisions about their future in education.
Information Officers provide information to adults interested in returning to learning including a one to one service. Adult Guidance Counsellors provide one-to-one adult education guidance and group guidance to adults who are attending or considering attending the following programmes:

The VEC Adult Basic Education Service offers a free and confidential service to adults who want to improve their reading, writing, spelling, maths and basic computers. Classes are offered on a one to one basis or in small groups depending on the needs of individual learners. Progression opportunities to accredited programmes are also available to learners.

BTEI offers flexible learning opportunities for young people and adults who wish to return to education. It aims to give participants the opportunity to combine a return to learning with family, work and other responsibilities.
All BTEI programmes offer FETAC Certification. Participants on BTEI programmes can build credits over time and achieve qualifications recognised through the National Framework of Qualifications.

The VEC Community Education Service works in partnership with community, voluntary and interagency groups in the development and delivery of a wide range of learning and education opportunities for community-based groups.

Youthreach is a national programme of second-chance education and training directed at unemployed young early school leavers aged 15-20. The programme focuses on the holistic development of the individual. Participants are facilitated in setting personal and educational goals that increase their self-esteem, skill and knowledge base and employability.
